STANDARD PENNANT CO.  (2004-present) - Graphic Artist

 * Duties: Create original artwork for use on various clothing items. Create artwork for screenprint, embroidery, vinyl, and chenille. Also, I have created various product orderform layouts as well as sales pamphlets and signage.

    *Involves daily use of computers and programs such as CorelDraw, Adobe Photoshop CS, Illustrator CS2, Freehand9, Tajima DG/ML by Pulse for embroidery/chenille digitizing, and Gerber. I also use Ioline plotters and cutters on a daily basis.

    * Sample clients include Penn State, University of Pittsburgh, and Wake Forest.

 

U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS, HESSTON PA  (04/02/2003 to 09/27/2003 and 05/12/2002 to 09/12/2002) - Park Ranger

  *Performed a variety of support activities for the management and protection of park resources, including informing the public of recreation rules and regulations, traffic control, accident prevention, picnic area operation, visitor information services, patrolling of boundary line, security of Government buildings and property, and miscellaneous recreation program activities.

    *Conducted Interpretive Programs, created and layed out the park weekly newsletter, patrolled parks and trails, painted, filed documents, cleaned vehicles.

    *Exercised citation authority under circumstance where verbal and written warnings either did not work or were not the appropriate course of action. Performed desk duty such as taking reservations and developing park materials such as the weekly news flyer that circulated. Patrolled campgrounds and also patrolled using a motor boat.

    *Also contributed to the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Commemoration event by creating flyers, a large scale grizzly bear, and various other interactive publication and learning materials.

 

U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS, THOMASTON CT  (05/09/2001 to 08/25/01) - Park Ranger

   * Performed a variety of support activities for the management and protection of park resources, including informing the public of recreation rules and regulations, traffic control, accident prevention, picnic area operation, visitor information services, patrolling of boundary line, security of Government buildings and property, and miscellaneous recreation program activities.

 Conducted Interpretive Programs, patrolled parks and trails, painted, filed documents, cleaned vehicles, used tractors and dump trucks.

  * Regulation of park activities, patrolling, marking and updating boundaries, interpretive programs, use of dump trucks and tractors and back hoes, fee collection, painting, serving as a resource for the public to ask questions; just to name a few

AWARDS/ACCOMPLISMENTS

  *Created 10 ft. tall fiberglass groundhog for Gimmicks Restaurant in Punxsutawney. Included work with fiberglass and foam as well as painting.

    *Employee of the quarter - December, 1997

    *Regional winner for a painting - 1999

    *Nomination for Female of the year at Juniata College - May, 2000

    *Special Scholarship for person of good moral character - January, 2002

 

OTHER INFORMATION

   * I had the opportunity to work in conjunction with the National Park Service on the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Commemoration Event. This event traveled across the country via the route that Lewis and Clark travelled.

    *I have had courses in Public Speaking.

    * I was a member of the Quick Response team at Juniata College (QRS).

    *I have held officer positions in several clubs: Women's Rugby to name one.

    *At my college, I was a member of Student Government as well as being my class representative.

    * I enjoy working independantly as well as with a group.
